Pranitha opposite Vijay?

Luck seems to be working overtime for Pranitha, the 'Udhayan' heroine. For the actress from Karnataka is showing signs of occupying a place in the A-list heroines of Tamil cinema, with a couple of promising projects blinking at her.
We already have sources claiming that she will be the female lead of 'Saguni', the forthcoming film of hot and happening hero Karthi Sivakumar. Now we learn that might get to play the heroine of Vijay as well.
"Pranitha is one of the few names considered to play Vijay's love interest in a movie to be directed by A R Murugadoss. Chances are high for her to sign the project," say sources close to the development.
Already a popular face in Sandalwood, the actress stepped in to Tamil cinema with the recently-released 'Udhayan', an Arulnidhi-starrer. "I am ready to take up challenging offers from Kollywood," she said earlier. And her dream is coming true now, we must say.

My wish has come true: Vijay

Vijay was one among the early birds who called on AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Friday, even as her party was heading for a massive win in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The actor, who supported the AIADMK-alliance in the polls, had a few minutes’ exchange with her. The ‘Ilaya Thalapathi’ was accompanied by his father and popular filmmaker S A Chandrasekar.
Speaking to reporters later, Vijay said, “I was really hoping for a change. And it has happened now. This is a much needed change and the scale of victory is amazing. People have expressed themselves in a big way.”
Expressing gratitude to the members of his Vijay Makkal Iyakkam who had worked for the AIADMK-led alliance, the actor said, “Respecting my request, they worked extremely hard. I thank them sincerely.”

VIJAY & Rajini daughters at the Poes Garden

Shortly after Latha Rajinikanth issued a press statement refuting the wild rumors about her husband’s health and stating for the record that he was recovering nicely, his daughters, Aishwarya and Soundarya offered further assurance.
The two of them had gone to congratulate J Jayalalitha on her victory in the 2011 elections. To the huge throng of reporters gathered outside, they gave their reassurances about their father’s health and begged them to disregard the rumors. They also thanked them and the fans for their concern and prayers.
It has been reported that Vijay had also met the AIADMK Supremo to wish her all the best and congratulate on the astounding victory in the legislative assembly elections.

‘Velayudham’s promos in Jaya TV!

Looks like the TN poll results will definitely change the fate of the Tamil film industry. Ilayathalapathy featured the promo of his forthcoming and much-awaited flick, ‘Velayudham’ in Jaya TV, the official television channel of AIADMK political party.

People were already glued to the screens to be updated with the poll results being updated, and AIADMK leading the results kept them even more glued to the party’s television channel. The promo was featured at the apt time, raising the expectations even more for the film among fans and people of all classes.

Now people can be assured that ‘Velayudham’ will please it’s fans as the movie is an out-and-out commercial entertainer, as the promo has showcased. Vijay’s introductory song ‘Vela Vela Velayudham…’ will be another chartbuster!

Santhanam will entertain the audiences along with Vijay in this film.  Vijay pairs up with Genelia and Hansika Motwani in this film. We had earlier told you that Hansika will be doing a lot of comedy scenes in this film; while speaking to the media she also expressed that the role she plays of typical Tamil ponnu is very possessive about Vijay.

'Nanban' music tracks!

Though this summer is one of the hottest in many years it continues to offer some really cool flicks for movie lovers this season. Kollywood is continuously churning out good films back-to-back with the most-wanted heroes of today in Tamil. Here is some good news for all you ‘Ilayathalapathy’ fans out there.

On one side, director Shankar is shooting ‘Nanban’ at a brisk pace. The film is a multi-starrer with Vijay playing the lead. On the other end, the music director Harris Jayaraj is contributing the tunes for this film. From what close associates to the crew reveal, it looks like the music album of ‘Nanban’ will have four songs. The lyrics, for all the songs, have been penned by Madhan Karky.

‘Nanban’ has retained the refrain ‘All is well’ in its Tamil remake too. This number has been belted out by Vijay Prakash and it looks like this song will showcase the young and energetic phase of college life. This might be the opening track in the album. Another number is on friendship and goes ‘Nee Yen Nanban…’ This song is said to have been rendered by Benny Dayal and Blaaze.

The next number looks like a romantic one and begins with ‘Uyire Engai…’ this song has been crooned by Hariharan and Chinmayi. Looks like this might strike a chord with the audience. Another track goes ‘Killi Killi…’

We’ve given you the latest updates on ‘Nanban’s music tracks, however we will know things for sure only when the album hits the stands! A tentative date has not been zeroed in yet for the music launch but be sure that we will let you know well in advance about the big event. Comeback for more updates right here on IndiaGlitz.com!

Vijay’s next is a mass entertainer

Director Ameer, who is currently busy with Aadhi Bhagwan, is all set to begin the groundwork for his next venture. This time around he has roped in Illayathalapathi Vijay to play the protagonist in his film.
The film is titled Kannabiran. The script is designed to suit Vijay’s mass image it is revealed.
Director Ameer who has worked with top actors like Suriya, Karthi, Jiiva has now managed to convince Vijay for his latest venture.

Vijay & Shankar in Holland

We are sure it will be a huge relief for the ‘Ilaya Thalapathi’ from the scorching heat griping the state. Vijay is taking a trip to this European destination as a part of work along with his ‘Nanban’ team intact with his director and co-artist in tow. Director Shankar is planning to shoot a romantic song from the Netherlands with the Tulip Garden Kuekenhof as its back drop.

This particular spot seems to be director Shankar’s favorite what with the director using this same garden for the “Kumaari…” song from ‘Anniyan.’ Kuekenhof provides a splash of vibrant color to any scene. ‘Anniyan’ saw Vikram as a schizophrenic patient. The film was a huge hit in the commercial as well as critical circles.
Now, this song to be shot will feature Vijay and Ileana. ‘Nanban’ is the remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’ which had Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Kareena Kapoor playing important roles. Both the films have been inspired by Chetan Bhagat’s popular novel ‘5 Point Someone.’ The music for ‘Nanban’ is by Harris Jayaraj and we are sure he will do wonders with his tunes this time too!

‘Velayudham’ gearing for completion

When ‘Kavalan’ was to release, there seemed to be no takers for Vijay films. The actor met with many glitches and had to face some hardships before the release of the film. All that changed post the release of ‘Kavalan’. Offers started pouring in for Vijay who seemed to accept them all with grace. Now the actor has a handful of films with top directors of the country from South India. As we all know he is doing ‘Nanban’ with director Shankar, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ with Mani Rathnam and his next release ‘Velayudham’ with director M. Raja.
‘Velayudham’ is gearing up for completion and is in its post-production stages. Vijay helms this project with Genelia and Hansika Motwani as his heroines. Like in most Vijay films this film will see Vijay with a younger sister in Saranya Mohan. Genelia will be seen as a journalist and Santhanam will supply the film with steady doses of comical interludes. M.S. Bhaskar will portray an important character in the film.
Here are some important aspects of the film just for the fans of “Ilaya Thalapathi” who are eagerly awaiting news about their hero. For one the film is about a normal man who becomes a hero, and the circumstances surrounding him and his loved ones. The camera will pan the lush greeneries of some villages in Tamil Nadu as well as the glamour of some cities in India; some songs have been shot from exotic locales in Europe.
‘Velayudham’ is produced by V. Ravichandran under the Aascar Films banner. The music for the film has been tuned by Vijay Antony. His earlier stint in Vijay starrer ‘Vettaikaran’ was a huge hit. This film too has expectations running high on the music.

Vijay's Velayudham is getting ready

Leading production house  Aascar Films and producer V Ravichandran has started the 'first look campaign' for his big budget Vijay entertainer Velayudham.

Velayutham audio for a record price

Velayutham’s audio has been sold for an astounding sum to Sony Music. The music house major is known for lapping up the audio rights of several big banner films and Velayutham has just joined this long list. Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, Velayutham stars Vijay in the lead.
The music scored by Vijay Anthony seems to have impressed Sony Music officials so much so that they decided to pay a record price for its audio rights. Velayutham is directed by Jayam Raja and has Genelia and Hansika Motwani playing the female leads. This film is a remake of the Telugu film Azad which had Nagarjuna playing the lead
